Georgia Mansur - artist
A well-known and well-loved international artist, California-born, she now lives in Palm Beach( Sydney) Australia.
Georgia loves plein air painting which she finds fast, fresh and exhilarating. The immediacy of the sounds, sights and smells of the environment injects a raw energy and emotion into her work. Her paintings reflect her adventurous nature, actively teaching art and painting around the world.
Having completed a Bachelor of Arts in Communication at California State University in Sacramento, Georgia sees painting as a means of communication with others on different levels and connecting us all to nature.
Georgia loves sharing her passion with others, teaching them to express emotion through paint, making it personal and moving. She has released instructional videos filmed in the UK and USA. Her students have greatly appreciated these contributions and have nicknamed her ‘the Art Whisperer’.
Georgia loves to travel, meet new people and help them tap into their creativity. She conducts painting workshops in Australia, New Zealand, Italy, France, Croatia, the Greek Islands, Morocco, South Africa, USA and the UK, to name but a few.
Her paintings can be enjoyed at exhibitions in Los Angeles, Walnut Creek & Carmel California. Seattle Washington, Provence France, the Blue Mountains and Palm Beach in Australia. And of course, many Mudgee art-lovers cherish the Mansur paintings they possess from the numerous exhibitions she held there over the years.
Georgia’s work has been featured in international publications such as Plein Air, Watercolor, Southwest Art, Fine Art Connoisseur and North Light Art Books including ‘Splash’ and ‘Exploring Colour.’ Georgia was a frequent contributor to Australian Artist Magazine. Mansur is a faculty member of The Plein Air Convention (the largest gathering of artists in the world) for the past 10 years and is a sought after instructor Internationally at retreats and workshops.
Georgia was on executive of ADFAS, worked with Mudgee Arts Council’s Visual Arts Committee and has been on the board of ArtsOutWest and was on the steering committee to research and establish a regional gallery in Mudgee. Georgia has been involved in many international art-related organisations, events and exhibitions, as well as several Australian groups and Open Studios.
Georgia’s work is a reflection of her emotional response to the world around her. Her work is expressive in brushwork, colour and movement which draws the viewer in to how she interprets the world in paint. Creativity is a gift we give ourselves and Georgia loves helping others open that present!
